INTRODUCTION
Let us begin with the most pivotal and powerful point of the entire book:
The Book Of Acts is the record of the movement of the Spirit of God Within the Church.
The above point will be seen over and over again in this course. Without the Holy Spirit’s power and direction there would be no Book of Acts and no true movement of the apostles or of anyone else. There is a great emphasis placed upon the human characters in the book–Paul and Peter, to name a few. But, sad to say, this emphasis seems to be misplaced. For without the Holy Spirit’s power, Saul would not have been converted, nor would Peter have stood before the murderers of the Lord preaching to them with such supernatural boldness. Without the Holy Spirit there would have been no church born in Jerusalem and no Christians to be seen!
Without the Holy Spirit there would have been no conversion of thousands from Judaism to Christianity. There would be nothing! With this in mind, we are obligated to see the true and prominent role of the Holy Spirit in the church of Jesus Christ, both then and today.
