Basis of Discipleship: Disciples is a term used to show how the disciples of Jesus Christ are transformed by the renewing of their minds, so that they may discern what is the will of God.

We must take God’s great message of salvation to others so that they can respond to the Good News. How will your loved ones and neighbors hear it unless someone tells them? Is God calling you to take a part in making his message known in your community? Think of one person who needs to hear the Good News, and think of something you can do to help him or her hear it. Then take that step as soon as possible.

Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Christianity is the practice of making new disciples. In the beginning of Jesus ministry, when calling Peter. He said, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19.

At the end of Jesus ministry, Jesus institutes the Great Commission.

In this commission, all people are commanded

Discipleship involves winning people to Jesus Christ, and building people up for Jesus Christ. New Christians should be taught the basis of discipleship immediately after becoming a Christian in order to establish them with an understanding of their faith. It will help them grow in their faith and fellowship with others. Greater understanding of God’s word will continue to cause Christian growth.
