The most fundamental teaching of the Bible and Christian theology is that God exists and is ultimately in control of the universe. This is the foundation on which all Christian theology is built.
 
THE BIBLICAL CONCEPT OF GOD—GOD'S EXISTENCE
 
Questions concerning the reality of God are not discussed in the Scriptures; his existence is everywhere assumed. The opening passage that reveals God as Creator and Sovereign of heaven and earth sets the pattern for the remainder, in which God is considered foundational for a proper view of life and the world. The biblical question is therefore not does God exist, but who is God and how is he to be known?
